Well-patient care

Preventative care is key to maintaining your health. Annual checkups help you and your doctor identify and treat problems before they get serious. Before you are sick or injured is the perfect time to establish a relationship with a primary care physician and address any ongoing health issues.

A note about fasting:

We ask that you fast (no food, only water to drink) for 10-12 hours before your exam IF your exam is scheduled before noon. (If you have diabetes, fast only if your appointment is before 10:00 a.m.) For exams after noon, eat normally.

Many preventative care services are nearly 100% covered by insurance. Please click here to learn more about our billing & insurance information.

Geriatric care

Novant Health Presbyterian Internal Medicine cares for adults of all ages. Our physicians are well versed in medical concerns and disorders related to aging. When you choose Presbyterian Internal Medicine, you can continue seeing the same physician throughout adulthood, including when you are in need of geriatric care. Our providers work to keep geriatric patients active and healthy, and to make them and their caregivers active participants in their ongoing health. To make any appointment for yourself or another older adult, please call our office at 704-384-1750.

DOT physicals

If you drive for a living or if your job involves having a commercial driver's license, you might be required to complete a DOT physical. This exam includes checks of your overall health, hearing, vision and other factors that could affect your ability to drive safely. Presbyterian Internal Medicine regularly completes DOT physicals. You can schedule one by calling our office at 704-384-1750. Please click here to learn more about North Carolina DOT physicals.

If your job requires an executive physical or another type of medical assessment, please call our office at 704-384-1750 so that we can determine if we offer the services you require.

Travel medicine services

When you are planning travel abroad, you need to be aware of health risks you might encounter and how to protect yourself while away from home. Presbyterian Internal Medicine offers a variety of travel medicine services, including pre-travel consultations, vaccinations and news about the latest travel warnings for areas around the globe. Please click here to learn more about the vaccinations our office routinely offers.

Please call our office at 704-384-1750 as far in advance of your travel as possible. Some required vaccines only become effective a few weeks or more after they are administered. Making your travel medicine appointment in advance allows us to have the appropriate vaccines and medications on-hand, and ensures those vaccines will give you the most protection possible during your travels.
